Rachel Ann Morgan is a singer/songwriter in the Baltimore & DC area. Her strong background in musical theatre gives her a unique stage presence and ability to shift between different genres of music. Although she works on multiple projects from electronic to funk, her heart lies with blues, rock, and soul music. She has been working with a variety of different groups writing and creating original music with a focus on the Baltimore based blues/rock group she fronts, Hop’t.

In the past few years, Rachel Ann has had the opportunity to share the stage with many note-able musicians such as tenor saxophonist Ron Holloway (Warren Haynes Band, Susan Tedeschi Band), Matt Abts and Jorgen Carlson (Gov’t Mule, Planet of the Abts), as well as many up-and-coming musicians in the DC blues/rock scene. Her main influences include blues/rock legends such as Janis Joplin, Etta James, and Joni Mitchell as well as more contemporary female powerhouses such as Susan Tedeschi, Beth Hart, and Bonnie Raitt.

Rachel Ann has worked with many different groups throughout the Baltimore/DC area including the Ron Holloway band, the Charm City Funk Brigade, the Bobby Thompson Project, as well as her own band, Hop't. She lives and breathes music from writing and playing to watching, listening and expanding her music knowledge.

For many years, Racehl Ann's background was solely in Musical Theatre. She began performing at just five years old with the Baltimore Actos Theatre in their annual production of Babes in Toyland at Goucher College.

At age six she was invited to join the Baltimore Actors Theatre Academy and attended for 10 years. She appeared in Babes In Toyland for 14 consecutive years, involving herself in all aspects of the production from playing countless roles on stage to behind the scenes work such as choreographing, set construction, costume construction, and much more.

She starred in many productions throughout her young life and was awarded the highest level of Distinction from the Trinity College in London for her performance of Coyote in Coyote and the Swallowing Monster, as well as numberous dance and vocal awards from the Tri-M Music Society and the International Thespian Society.

Rachel Ann also attended the Nicole Gait Center for the Performing Arts dance company where she trained in all types of dance at the from ballet, tap, jazz,and pointe to modern, lyrical, hip-hop and salsa, and was part of their traveling troupe, Company Elite, for four years.

She attended Towson University where she studied Theatre Arts and Dance. While at Towson, she continued to audition and work professionally in local dance and theatre.
