JusticeAid Celebrates Billie Holiday and the Fight Against Inequity In Our Legal System
Honoring and Supporting Civil Rights Corps and Essie Justice Group And, Recognizing Two Heroes of the Effort to End Financial Barriers to Justice: The Honorable Truman A. Morrison III and Susan Shaffer.
The fair market value of tickets and meal is $150. JusticeAid is a nonprofit charitable organization recognized as exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to JusticeAid are deductible to the extent of the law for purposes of Federal income tax. You should consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of donations to JusticeAid. JusticeAid celebrates the music of Billie Holiday, honoring and supporting the work of their 2018 beneficiaries, Civil Rights Corps and Essie Justice Group, in the fight against inequality in our legal system. And, recognizing two heroes of the effort to end financial barriers to justice: The Honorable Truman A. Morrison III and Susan Shaffer.
With performances by Grammy Award winning artists Cecile McLorin Salvant, Paula Cole & Dom Flemons, along with legendary singer-songwriter Marshall Crenshaw and contemporary star Kandace Springs in an evening of song during the birth month of Billie Holiday (born Eleanora Fagan on April 7, 1915). Hosted by Suzan E. Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer, Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County. All proceeds benefit Civil Rights Corps and the Essie Justice Group.
